College Preparation for Homeschoolers

Many homeschool moms want to prepare their teen for college, even if the kid doesn’t think they want to go there. This way if goals change and the teen decides to apply after all, then most of their college preparation is taken care of, and they don’t have to play catch up.

And of course if our kid WANTS to go to college, then we want to make sure they have everything they need.

The problem is that we get all worried about what colleges want, and how to look good, and we think our kid has to take core courses every year or that everything has to be a difficult difficulty level, LOL — and this can lead to a lot of overwhelm. Well, I’m here to tell you that it’s really not a big deal.

All FIVE of my kids got into the colleges they applied to, and it was because we paid attention to what colleges require and then worked to meet it. That’s all college preparation is. It’s not rocket science!

Everything you need in order to learn about college preparation for your homeschooled teen. It's not rocket science -- you can be confident!

On this page I’ve compiled links for all of my blog articles, podcast episodes, and resources about preparing for college and applying to college, as well as about after your kid gets there. Anything you need to know is right here!

One quick way to know what colleges expect is to get my Quick College Confidence Guide, which will walk you through the process of determining college requirements. It’s easy peasy and you’ll feel SO MUCH BETTER!

I’m all about lightening the burden, y’all, and I want to empower moms to feel comfortable with getting their teen ready for college. Be assured that there is no one right way. Do what is best for YOUR family and YOUR kid!

Of course college preparation is not only about getting them into college, but also about enabling them to succeed there — so you will see links on this page that will help with that, also.

As I always say, just take this one step at a time, and you’ll be just fine. Overwhelm is not necessary. All the things the “experts” say to do are not necessary. We are an ordinary family full of real people, and if we can do it, anyone can!

You really CAN do this, and do it WELL! I have confidence in YOU!
